Does Red Light Therapy Work?

I originally decided to try red light therapy because of my wrist pain. I had heard that it could help with inflammation and recovery, so I figured it was worth a shot. I walked in thinking it would just be a quick session to target my wrist, but I had no idea how much more this treatment had to offer.

The moment I stepped into the red light therapy bed, I felt an unexpected wave of calm and relaxation. It wasn’t just about my wrist anymore—I could feel the warmth and soothing effects all over my body. After my session, I started reading more about the benefits and realized that red light therapy does so much more than just pain relief. It helps with metabolism, skin health, circulation, sleep quality, and even mental clarity. I never expected to leave feeling so refreshed and balanced.

What surprised me the most was how energized yet relaxed I felt afterward. My wrist definitely felt better, but I also noticed my skin looking more radiant, and I slept so well that night. I didn’t anticipate such an immediate difference, but now I’m intrigued to see the long-term effects with regular sessions.

As I continued my sessions, I started listening to podcasts about red light therapy and its many benefits. I learned that beyond pain relief, it can help with:

  • Hormone balancing – Supporting thyroid function and regulating stress hormones.
  • Skin health – Boosting collagen production for anti-aging effects.
  • Metabolism & weight management – Enhancing mitochondrial function to improve energy levels.
  • Sleep improvement – Helping regulate circadian rhythms for deeper rest.
  • Reduced inflammation & muscle recovery – Ideal for athletes or anyone dealing with chronic pain.

After my first couple of sessions, I knew I wanted to continue, so I found a weekly subscription service in San Diego that allows me to do regular treatments at a great price. Now, I’m committed to incorporating red light therapy into my wellness routine and seeing how it helps in the long run.

I’m definitely going to keep trying red light therapy and see how it continues to help—not just for my wrist but for my overall health and well-being. If you’re considering it, I highly recommend giving it a try. You might go in for one reason and come out discovering benefits you never even knew you needed!
